GameTap from TimeWarner). Every one of these services uses crippling DRM to distribute games, requires end-users to have gaming-capable PCs, and wait for a long download before beginning to play. Our service is different. DRM is not needed because games are impossible to steal using our model. Game play begins instantly. A gaming-capable PC is not required because the customer only sees a H.264 video stream on their screen. This can run on nearly any PC. No hardware investment lowers the cost of entry for more casual gamers and can expand the audience of already popular games. This will foster wider adoption and allow newer and better games to be distributed on this new channel. We have done extensive work and can demonstrate a simple proof of concept today.
